RCD360 PRO2 Wired Carplay Android auto Assistance & FAQs
Installation Guide | Plug and Play
This installation video shows the complete process of connecting the head unit with our SCUMAXCON standard rear camera.
If you do not plan to install a rear camera, you can simply watch the head unit installation part. The head unit installation itself is plug and play.
This sample stereo is our RCD360 PRO3S. The only difference between models is whether wireless function is supported.
Video includes: head unit installation, wiring connection, and standard rear camera setup.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
If you are unsure, please contact our support team and send clear photos of your vehicle wiring.
1. Power Cable Not Compatible / Doesn’t Fit
Issue: Power cable does not match the original car plug.
- Quadlock: Use standard power cable.
- ISO: Requires Plug-B for ISO
- MQB: Direct connection, no power cable needed.
2. Original Wiring Modified / Aftermarket Harness
Modified wiring may cause CAN signal mismatch.
- Email us: service@scumaxcon.com
- Send clear photos of current wiring
- We confirm the correct adapter

3. Battery Drain Test (How to Measure Parasitic Current)
When to use: You suspect the head unit does not fully power off, or the car battery drains after installation.
Tools needed:
- Digital multimeter (must support 10A current range)
- Wrench (to disconnect the battery negative terminal)
Step 1: Let the vehicle enter sleep mode
- Ignition OFF
- Close all doors, trunk, and hood
- Lock the car
- Wait 15–30 minutes
Step 2: Measure standby current (series connection)
- Open engine bay
- Disconnect the battery negative terminal
- Set multimeter to 10A current mode
- Connect probes in series:
- Red probe to battery negative post
- Black probe to vehicle negative cable
How to judge the result:
- ≤ 50mA: Normal
- 50–100mA: Elevated
- ≥ 100mA: Abnormal (battery drain risk)
How to confirm if the head unit is involved:
- Unplug the head unit power connector and test again
- If current drops significantly, the head unit is part of the draw path
Safety note: Always use the 10A range first to avoid blowing the meter fuse. If you are not confident, please contact our support team.
4. Battery Drain / Stereo Not Powering Off
Cause: Outdated CAN gateway.
- Radio stays on after key removal
- Backlight remains on
Solution: Use the yellow power-drain fix wire.
5. Steering Wheel Buttons (8-Button Type) Not Working
Requires CAN simulator decoder (YX2219).
6. Poor FM / AM Signal
May require Fakra antenna adapter.
7. Reverse Camera Not Working
Check camera type (RGB / AV / MIB).
Some RGB cameras require an adapter; dynamic guidelines may not display after conversion.
8. CarPlay Not Connecting
Issue: iPhone not connecting to CarPlay.
- USB cable: Try original Apple cables.
- iPhone system: Reset network settings.
- USB port: Check for looseness.
